PETITION FOR RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING

We the undersigned residents (18 years and older) of the ___________ block of _____________________ Street, petition City Council and the Philadelphia Parking Authority to designate our block as part of the Residential Permit Parking Program. The petition contains signatures of at least (70%) of the households on the block.

We the undersigned residents, understand that the Residential Permit Parking signs must remain for a trial period of eight months.

A permit costs $35.00 per vehicle for the first year and $20.00 for annual renewal.

A " vehicle" is an automobile, motorcycle, van or passenger utility vehicle not exceeding twenty (20) feet in length.

The permit increases the resident's chances of finding a parking space by stimulating turnover and eliminating storage of non-residential vehicles, however, it does not guarantee a parking space.

A permit is only valid on those blocks posted with a permit parking sign having the corresponding district number.

A permit does not excuse the observance of any traffic regulation except the posted time limit regulation.

A block is not eligible for permit parking when actual commercial use of property on the ground floor level of that block exceeds fifty percent.

This petition serves only to inform and advise City Council and the Parking Authority of our interest in being designated a permit parking block and of our understanding of the program's regulations. (1 signature per household)
