*1.  Brick Entryway Fundraiser Update*

At long last we will be placing the order for the bricks purchased to date.
We will be sending out a confirmation email soon to verify text engraving so
make sure to get back to us with any corrections.  The bricks will be set
this summer.  Its not too late to order your brick.  Please visit:

*2. K9 Water Fountain Installation*

*Great News!!:* The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has awarded the
Friends of Pretzel Park & Manayunk Dog Park volunteer team with a grant in
support of the installation of a K9 water fountain.  Even better news:
thanks to multiple successful Yappy Hour fundraisers, we now have the funds
to purchase and install the water fountain!

Landscape architects have been out to the park several times to survey and
plan the installation and the work will soon be out for bid.  If anyone has
recommendations for a plumber who could handle this kind of work we are open
to any and all suggestions.  Please email them to Garrett at
g_elwood at hotmail.com.

We're thrilled to be bringing cool water to our pups (and two-legged
friends) especially as the summer begins to heat up!


*3. Leadership Announcement*

It with great sadness that we announce the resignation of Eric Gartenberg,
founding coordinator of the dog run and dedicated leader of the Friends of
Pretzel Park & the Manayunk Dog Park.  For nearly a decade, Eric has been
the impetus behind the clean-up of the park, the installation of the dog
run, and the volunteer-in-chief behind all of the successful fundraising
events that will support the future activities of the park.

As changes in our current volunteer team take place, we are eager to invite
new volunteers to step up to the plate and help craft the future for the
park.  We are currently seeking volunteers willing to serve at several
different levels for the Friends group including:

   - Volunteers (general clean-up/maintenance & special events)
   - Team Leaders
   - Community Liasons
   - Board Members

We are in the process of developing a board/leadership structure of the
group and are seeking a greater involvement of the users of the park and the
community in general.  Our goal is to create a structure that is sustainable
and supports long term growth and success.  We will be working closely with
our parks coordinator at Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) to assist
in this process, but more than anything, we need your involvement.

*4. Next Event: Park Clean-up (Date: TBA)*

We will having a mini-park cleanup to keep up with the great work that was
done at *"Spring Into Your Park"*.  We will be setting some planters,
moving/spreading some mulch, and making other improvements.  We're looking
at a late June date (depending on mulch delivery)-- we'll keep you posted!!


 *5. Yappy Hour & Spring Into Your Park -- Huge Success!!*

Our last Yappy Hour put the icing on the cake and helped us to reach our
fundraising goal!  We will be installing the human/K9 water fountain this
summer thanks to the generous support of so many Manayunk-area businesses,
volunteers, and community members.  Thank you for your support!!
